Good afternoon soccer families!

We are excited to get going with soccer 2.0 (phase 2 for Return-to-Play)!  We apologize in advance; this email has a lot of information but please be sure to read through it thoroughly.

REMINDER: Be sure to bring your $75 payment when you arrive for your first practice.  Check payable to LAYSA.

Phase 2 Return-to-Play Details

Even though we are now able to practice together in small groups, there are still social-distancing practices that we must follow, and it is best to be familiar with them in advance of our first practice.  We are following the “Return-to-Play Plan” as outlined by MYSA which follow the guidelines set by the government.  Please read through the detailed phase plan for Phase 2

Here are some key items for parents & players:

Parents

  • If you are not comfortable having your child return to play, DON’T
  • Check child’s temperature and utilize MN Symptom Screener tool prior to attending any activities.  This should be completed prior to each practice.
  • Ensure child’s clothing is washed after every activity
  • Ensure all equipment (cleats, ball, shin guards, pinnie) is sanitized prior to any activity.  (Brainerd BLAST will be supplying soccer balls, so please leave yours at home)
  • Notify Club/coach if your child becomes ill for any reasons.
  • Supply your child with individual sanitizer.
  • Adhere to all social distancing expectations.
  • Ensure your child has plenty of water and only uses their water bottle.  No sharing of water or equipment.
  • Parents and spectators must follow social distancing guidelines.  It is preferred for parents to stay in their vehicles, but if you’d like to be out of your vehicle you must stay outside the fence so you are not counted as part of the gathering.
  • Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes early for practice, and please be sure to leave practice within 15 minutes as well. The trainings are separated by 30 minutes to allow groups to completely clear before the next group arrives.
  • Teams entering fields for trainings should wait until all players from previous practices have left.

Players

  • If you are not comfortable with returning to play, DON’T.
  • Adhere to all Return to Play protocols.  Coaches will remind players of this at the first practice.
  • Wash hands thoroughly before and after all activities.
  • Ensure all equipment (cleats, ball, shin guards, pinnie) is sanitized prior to any activity.
  • Do not share water, food, or equipment.
  • Respect and practice social distancing, as required in these guidelines.
  • Place equipment, bags, etc. at least 6 feet apart.
  • No high 5’s, handshakes, knuckles, or group celebrations.

Pods – Practice Times – Location

Each player who is registered for soccer 2.0 has been grouped together into pods of less than 10, by gender and by age.  The players within each of the pods are not able to change per the guidelines.

The pods are setup in SportsEngine with their rosters, practice times and locations.  There are 2 ways to view the information:

  1. Go to your SportsEngine app on your mobile device.  Be sure to be logged in as a member.
The parent/guardian who completed the registration should automatically see the team and all information.  If secondary parents/guardians would like to access the information from their own SportsEngine account, they can be added as a guardian by the person who completed the registration.  If you have questions, please let us know.  We are more than happy to help.

  2. Go to our website at brainerdblast.com.  Be sure to be logged in as a member so you can see the roster.
Go to Teams > Phase 2 > pods are listed B (boys) and G (girls) and numbered by age, 1 being the youngest and 6/7 being the oldest.

  3. Please remember to bring a check for $75, made out to LAYSA, to the first practice and give it to your child’s coach/LAYSA volunteer.

Southdale will be our practice location, at least through the month of June.  The school district won’t be opening their facilities (both indoor and outdoor) until July 1st at the earliest.  We will keep you posted if changes are made with practice schedules.

The two soccer fields have been divided into 4 areas as seen in the attached map.  The field locations are noted in the practice schedule in SportsEngine.

Please let us know if you have any questions with the guidelines, pods, and/or practice schedules.  LAYSA_Reg@hotmail.com
